Blank Text Generator
Build empty-looking text from four kinds of invisible character, then copy or download it.
Widest support — works on WhatsApp, Instagram, Discord and most games.
The result looks empty because it is. Copy it and paste it wherever a blank line or an invisible spacer is needed. Some platforms strip these characters, and using them to get around moderation breaks most platforms’ rules.

Nothing visible above is expected — the characters are genuinely blank.
Nothing is uploaded
Everything runs in your browser. Your text never reaches a server.
Up to 100,000 repeats
Ten times the usual ceiling, and it stays responsive at the top end.
Any language, any emoji
Full Unicode support, with emoji counted as single characters.

One click to the clipboard, or save the whole result as a .txt file.
Blank text looks like nothing but still counts as content. This generator builds it from four characters that most software treats as printable yet draws with no ink: the Hangul filler, the zero-width space, the Braille blank pattern and the figure space. Choose one, set how many characters go on each line and how many lines you want, then copy the block.
People reach for it when a form rejects an empty field, when they want a chat bubble that carries no visible words, or when a profile name should read as untitled. Generation happens entirely in your browser, so nothing you make is uploaded. Support is uneven across apps, so send one short test message before you build anything around it.
Three steps
How to use the blank text generator
- 1
Choose a blank character
Hangul filler has the widest support and survives most chat apps. Zero-width space adds no visual width at all. Braille blank behaves like a normal-width space, and figure space matches the width of a single digit.
- 2
Set the shape of the block
Decide how many blank characters belong on one line, then how many lines to stack. One character on one line is enough for an empty username; twenty lines makes a long gap in a chat thread.
- 3
Copy or download
Press copy and the whole block goes to your clipboard, invisible characters included. Download saves it as a plain text file if you want to keep it for reuse or paste it into something later.
The four blank characters, and how they differ
They are not interchangeable. Each one has a different width, a different Unicode code point and a different chance of surviving whatever app you paste it into. If one type gets stripped or shows up as a hollow box, try the next one down the list rather than assuming blank text is blocked entirely.
- Hangul filler: a full-width character that reads as empty in most chat apps and is the safest first choice.
- Zero-width space: occupies no horizontal space, useful for breaking a string without changing how it looks.
- Braille blank: the empty Braille pattern, roughly the width of a normal space and rarely trimmed by forms.
- Figure space: a typographic space as wide as one digit, handy for aligning numbers in monospaced output.
Where blank text holds and where it vanishes
Most messaging apps trim leading and trailing whitespace before sending, which is exactly why an ordinary space bar cannot produce an empty message. Blank characters slip past that trim because they are not classified as plain spaces. Some platforms have since added their own filters, so a block that works in one app may arrive as nothing in another.
Search boxes, database fields and CSV imports treat these characters as real data. A username that looks empty still occupies a row, and a spreadsheet cell holding a zero-width space is not blank to a formula. Keep that in mind before pasting invisible text anywhere it will later be sorted, matched or validated.
A note on responsible use
Invisible characters are also used to slice up words so that keyword filters no longer recognise them. Nearly every platform treats that as a rules violation, and moderation systems increasingly normalise text before scanning it, so the trick fails more often than it works. Blank text is at its best for layout and spacing, not for getting past a filter.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I just press the space bar?
Chat apps and most web forms strip whitespace from the start and end of your input before accepting it, so a message made of spaces becomes an empty string and is rejected. The characters here are not classified as ordinary spaces, which is why they survive the trim and still render as nothing.
Which blank character has the best support?
Hangul filler works across the widest range of apps, which is why it is the default. If a platform renders it as a box or removes it, try the Braille blank next, then figure space. Zero-width space is the most likely of the four to be silently deleted.
Does blank text count towards a character limit?
Yes. Every invisible character is a real character, so a fifty-character blank block uses fifty characters of any limit you paste it into. Several of them also take up more than one byte, which matters when the limit is measured in bytes rather than characters.
Will screen readers announce blank text?
It depends on the reader and the character. Some skip these code points entirely, some announce them by name, and long blocks can produce a stretch of silence or repeated noise. Avoid stacking invisible characters in content that other people rely on assistive technology to read.
Can I use blank text in a username?
Often, though many services validate names against a list of allowed characters and reject anything outside it. Where it does work, remember that an invisible name is hard to search for, hard to mention and hard to report, so some platforms remove such accounts later.
Is anything I generate sent to a server?
No. The characters are assembled by JavaScript running on your own device, and the page has no upload step, no account and no stored history. Closing the tab discards everything. The download button writes a text file straight from your browser rather than fetching it from anywhere.
